This section is for you, our customers and friends, to ensure you get the most pleasurable experience possible while visiting us. We list all Retro Kitten Apparel store policies, member's club specials, refer-a-friend discounts, fraud information, etc.

We explain how we run this joint so there are no hidden surprises, unexpected problems, misunderstandings, or reading between the lines. Helpful Information/General Tips

1. Please have each item cleaned before wearing. We buy most items second-hand, even some of our new items with tags, and cannot clean each item before resale.

2. Always compare your measurements with our measurements before placing an order.

3. Read all policies listed below, as well as all information listed in our FAQ'S, Size/Measurement, Lay-Away, etc. section. It will all fair to be useful.

Gypsies Do It Better is "doing business as" Retro Kitten Apparel. We are now formally Gypsies Do It Better dba Retro Kitten Apparel, and informally Retro Kitten Apparel, or RKA. You can still reach us by either name or URL: www.retrokittenapparel.com or www.gypsiesdoitbetter.com, and you may still see us listed as both during search engine searches, etc.

We have taken many measures to ensure our customer's can shop with us without worry! We also have enlisted Paypal, a safe and secure online payment processing bank to process your payments. Paypal is the #1 online payment processing center used by Ebay and many other reputable web sites, and it's free! You do not need a Paypal account to purchase our merchandise through Paypal, but many customers find that it is very useful as it allows you the freedom and security of shopping online anywhere Paypal is accepted, which is just about everywhere. This is yet another way we can ensure our customers a safe and reliable atmosphere to shop! We are just as concerned about your safety while shopping with us as you are!

ACCEPTED FORMS OF PAYMENT


We have chosen Paypal, a safe and secure online payment center, to process all payments. Paypal is not just an online bank, but a very safe and secure payment processing center that protects it's customers. You can choose to open a Paypal account and have your very own online bank and payment processing center, or you can use your personal debit or credit card on Paypal to purchase merchandise from us. Also, Paypal has a great protection plan in place, and a dispute center that is easily accessed.

YOU DO NOT NEED A PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO ORDER OUR MERCHANDISE.

While going through our checkout process, you will be taken to Paypal to enter your payment information safely and securely.

*The payment processing steps (as outlined below) on Paypal only ensure that your account is valid and you have the money available in your account. Your payment will simply be in the pending status until you have reviewed your order (the next step after the payment process) and click on the button on the Review Order page to send the order through (*more information is outlined below the payment processing steps).

If you do not have a Paypal account, or do not wish to use your Paypal account at the time, simply enter your personal debit or credit card information on the left of the page and hit continue to begin the payment process. If you do have a Paypal account, Paypal will detect that you do and ask you if you'd like log in. Simply choose not to log in and continue on with the payment process steps.

If you do have a Paypal account, and wish to use it, simply log in on the right and follow the payment processing steps.

*After your payment has been validated, you will be taken back to our checkout page where you will review your order and click on the button at the bottom to send your order through. You will then see your confirmation page. Once you get to the confirmation page your payment will be processed and the transaction will be compete. If you do not send your order through on the review page, or get to the confirmation page, your order will not be processed and your account will not be charged.

HOW TO PLACE AN ORDER


When you are finished adding items to our virtual shopping cart, click on View Cart, unless you are already in your cart (not literally, this isn't the kind of cart you can just climb into and have someone push you up and down the isle), and follow the instructions below to begin the checkout process:

1. SHOPPING CART CHECKOUT - PAGE 1 - YOUR INFORMATION: On your shopping cart page (the first page of checkout), review the items in your cart and scroll down below to fill out all REQUIRED fields such as your full name, the address you want your order shipped to, a valid telephone number, in case we have any questions, your current email address to ensure you receive your receipt, choose your shipping method (i.e. Priority Mail, Express Mail, International Priority Mail, etc.), and any discount or coupon code you may have (be sure to check our home page for any sales codes). *Be sure to click on the "apply" buttons next to the coupon field and shipping method field, and go back to the top of the page where your merchandise table is and ensure your total has been calculated to reflect any discounts and your shipping costs. If, at anytime, you decide to add more merchandise to your order, click on the "continue shopping" link just below the merchandise table at the top of the first checkout page, or, to remove an item, click on the "remove" link below that items title. You can only use one discount coupon code per order (i.e. if you use a sale code you cannot use the free shipping code, etc.). After you have entered all pertinent information, hit the red "Continue" button at the bottom right of the page. If you have missed a required field you will be taken back to the top of that page and notified as to what information is necessary to continue with checkout and a red *asterisk will appear next to the empty, or incorrect field.

2. SHOPPING CART CHECKOUT - PAGE 2 - PAYMENT: On the second page you will enter your payment information. The page will say: "Your order summary" at the top on the right, and "Choose a way to pay" on the left. You can either log into your Paypal account, if you have one, and pay that way, which is the option in the first section. The second section is the "Pay with Bill Me Later, Debit or Credit Card" section and here you will have two options: you can choose to click on the "Bill me later" option if you have a Paypal account, or click on the "Credit Card" option, if you want to use your personal credit card. If you choose to pay by your credit card simply enter your credit card information, telephone number, and email address. You do not need a Paypal account to make your purchase. *If you have a Paypal account, but do not wish to use it for this transaction, Paypal will detect that you have an account with them and ask you if you would like to log into it. Just choose to continue without signing in. After choosing your method of payment, and entering your payment information, click on the "Review and Continue" button in yellow below. If Paypal detects that you do not have the funds available on the credit card used you will be notified at this point and have the option of using a different credit card, or form of payment. If you do not have another form of payment we offer a Lay-Away plan, but there is a $20 down payment/deposit for orders between $20-$99.99 that must be paid to open a lay-away account. Please click on the following Lay-Away Policy link and read our "Lay-Away Policy". RKA has chosen Paypal to process all payments as it is the most secure online payment processing center to conduct all payment transactions whether you have a Paypal account or not.

3. SHOPPING CART CHECKOUT - PAGE 3 - ORDER REVIEW: On the third page you can review your order to ensure everything is correct. If not, click on the back button at the bottom left, and edit any information necessary. If everything is correct click on the "Send Order" button in red at the bottom right. Your payment is then processed, and you will be directed to our confirmation page.

4. SHOPPING CART CHECKOUT - PAGE 4 - CONFIRMATION: If you have now arrived at our "Confirmation" page, and you have received your "Confirmation" email, your order was processed successfully. We will process within 5-7 business days (not including weekends or holidays), and ship your order to you via the shipping method of your choice. Please allow the given time frame for the shipping method you chose for your order to arrive. If you would like to check on the status of your order you can use the tracking number provided to you via email once we have processed your order and printed your shipping label. If your order was not processed correctly, you will not get to the "Confirmation" page, or receive the "Confirmation" email. If that is the case, your order has not gone through, and you were not charged. If you do not have the funds available you would have received a notice on the second page of checkout, the "Payment" page. Please contact Lindsay at 1-559-326-0130 and I will walk you through the checkout process to ensure success. If you are afraid you were charged, I can assure you you were not, but you can check with your bank, or Paypal, to ensure you weren't charged to help put you at ease.

Our checkout process is really very simple although it may seem a little complicated reading this, but when you are actually going through the checkout process it will take you step by step through these 4 simple pages: Checkout Page, Payment, Order Review, Confirmation.

Validating Your Order

After placing your order using our secure online shopping cart, we will check the information you give us for validity, by verifying your method of payment and shipping address. After we have completed a review, we will either accept or deny your order. You will be notified upon completion of review, if your order has been denied, via an email stating the reason(s) for denial. If fraud is suspected, you will be notified then if any action will be taken.

Order Acceptance/Confirmation

Your receipt of an electronic, or other form of "Order Confirmation", does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell merchandise to you. Retro Kitten Apparel reserves the right to accept or decline your order for any reason at any time.

In order to protect us, we cannot ship large orders to a Post Office Box or Drawer, and we will need a physical address to ship your order to. If your order is marked as "Pending Review" we will ship your order upon transaction clearance from your bank, and any orders requesting expedited shipping will be shipped only after the review is completed. If we feel you have committed a crime during your transaction, or the transaction is fraudulent, we reserve the right to refuse to do business with you. We will report all fraudulent activity to the Police Department immediately.

Sales Tax Policy

Retro Kitten Apparel is required to collect sales tax in California, U.S.A. at the rate in effect at the time you place your order. The state tax rate will be calculated during the ordering process. Sales tax is subject to change as rates fluctuate.

Yahoo! System Maintenance

Yahoo! performs necessary planned system maintenance periodically. This work will help ensure the continued reliability of our Yahoo! Store services. Our online store will remain available to customers, but some orders may not be accepted during these times. You, the customer, will not be charged if your order does not complete or is not accepted, and you will be notified during the checkout process if this happens. Simply return after the scheduled maintenance completes to place your order if it does not go through. To ensure an item doesn't sell before you can complete your order contact us with the item #(s), and we will place them on hold for you, as available.

We truly appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience this planned system maintenance may cause.

SHIPPING POLICY


Everyone is welcome to shop at Retro Kitten Apparel! We ship worldwide via USPS (United States Postal Service) aka your local post office, and UPS in certain instances! During checkout you will have several shipping method options to choose from.

Priority Mail Orders: Please allow 5-7 business days for "in-house processing" before your order ships, then it usually takes 2-3 mailing days for delivery via Priority Mail. We try to process all orders as quickly as possible, and it does not always take the full 5-7 days, and, on a rare occasion, it may take up to 10 business days for us to process your order. *You will receive an email with all pertinent shipping and tracking information when your order has completed the "in-house" processing time to alert you that your order is on its way. Please save this for your records. During the Holiday Season (December) we work overtime in order to get all orders out to the USPS within 24 hours of placement.

Express Mail Orders: Please allow 24 "business day hours" for "in-house processing" before your order ships, then it usually takes 1-2 mailing days for delivery via Express Mail. *You will receive an email with all pertinent shipping and tracking information when your order has completed the "in-house" processing time to alert you that your order is on its way. Please save this for your records.

Free Shipping: Free First Class or Priority Mail shipping (depending upon the weight of your order) is available to customers if your order subtotals (after any discounts, sales, or coupons are applied to your order total, but before tax) $75, and your shipping address is within the United States of America. No coupon code is necessary, but you must select "FREE USA SHIPPING ($75 & up)" as the shipping method during checkout. This courtesy is in place for our customers as an act of appreciation. BE ADVISED: we have a safety net in place for orders that do not qualify for free shipping as follows: by default, you will be charged $75 for shipping if the free shipping method is chosen without qualification of a subtotal of $75. You must reset this shipping charge by choosing an applicable shipping method and hit "apply" to reset the shipping cost. If you go forward with checkout, and do not choose another qualifying shipping method, you are authorizing this shipping charge and no refund will be given. You must authorize us to charge you any amount and you are given a chance to review your order and all charges incurred and approving same during the third step of checkout entitled "Order Review" so you have plenty of time to change your shipping method to one that you quality for. We do not take fraud lightly! *Please see our Fraud Warning below.

**FRAUD WARNING REGARDING FREE SHIPPING METHOD**


IF YOUR ORDER DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR FREE SHIPPING, AND YOU CHOOSE OUR FREE SHIPPING METHOD, THE DEFAULT SHIPPING CHARGE IS $75. IF YOU PROCEED THROUGH ALL THREE STEPS OF OUR CHECKOUT PROCESS INCLUDING "ORDER REVIEW" WHERE YOU HAVE THE FINAL OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW ALL CHARGES INCLUDING THIS SHIPPING CHARGE AND DO NOT CHANGE YOUR SHIPPING METHOD TO ONE YOU DO QUALIFY FOR AUTHORIZING PAYMENT, WE WILL NOT REFUND YOU.

Please do not use our free shipping method if your order does not qualify for it. Your order must subtotal at least $75 and you must live within the United States to qualify for free shipping. If you choose to violate this policy, and choose the free shipping method without qualifying for it, our safety default shipping charge is $75. If you proceed with the checkout process, and authorize this charge and make payment, we will not refund your money. We would like to be believe that everyone is honest, but unfortunately a few dishonest people have ruined that for the rest of us and in order for us to continue to offer free shipping we have put this safety net in place. It is not in an attempt to charge the customer more for shipping, but to alert the fraudulent customer by charging a higher shipping rate to enforce our protection and require an appropriate shipping method to be chosen instead. You must authorize all charges in the third stage of checkout, and are given one final opportunity to change your shipping method. We anticipate that this fraudulent attempt will be noticed on the first page of checkout where the shipping method is chosen and the shipping rate is shown, but you are given another opportunity to review your order prior to authorizing payment during the third step of checkout entitled "Order Review". If you still choose to go forward with your order there is nothing further we can do to encourage you to change your shipping method, and Retro Kitten Apparel will not refund your money. We will ship your order to you, but you will be banned from shopping at Retro Kitten Apparel in the future, and you will be reported to the proper authorities including Paypal and/or your credit card agency.

In-Store Pick-up

If you are local to Grover Beach it's surrounding area and the Central Coast of California you can pick up your order at our warehouse in Grover Beach, Ca. but you must first get authorization, and I will give you an appointment and directions to pick-up your order. Please do not just drop by, as this is our warehouse and you will not be able to pick up your order.

How to request In-Store Pick-up

Choose "In-Store Pickup" as your shipping option during checkout. You can note in the comments section of our checkout page, or email us with your availability to pick your order up. We will notify you via email or telephone within 24-48 hours (not including weekends & holidays) whether you have been approved for pick-up, and of our availability. Upon confirmation of your pick-up appointment, you will be given directions to our warehouse.

Tracking

You will be sent a link in your Order Confirmation email, which will allow you to track the status of your order in-house. After your order is packaged and shipped, you can track your parcel via one of the following links: USPS, UPS, or Paypal.

We utilize our local USPS (United States Postal Service) for most shipping needs as we have found it to be the most cost efficient and reliable way to ship our merchandise. However, in an effort to better serve you, we have integrated with UPS (United Parcel Service) and now offer 3 day delivery and Worldwide Express, which offers real time charges, tracking, and shipment updates. Some areas are currently unavailable for UPS.

All terms, conditions, and amounts are subject to change without notice, at any time.

Please note: We fully reserve the right not to ship to any unconfirmed Paypal addresses.

If we are required to verify your address and payment information with the bank that issues your credit card, this will delay the processing of your order significantly.

Retro Kitten Apparel practices strict fraud prevention policies.

If your order appears fraudulent, we will ask you to provide us with further verification of your credit card. *Note: An email response from you is not verification. We must have proof that you are the owner of the card before we will continue to process your order.

Web stores like ours are vulnerable to charge-back’s from customers using credit cards fraudulently. For your protection, as well as ours, we may require that your order be shipped to your billing address if the items ordered are especially valuable, if an American Express card was used, or if a Post Office Box is listed as the shipping address. Please note that all charge-back attempts will be processed via Paypal our online payment processing center and we are protected from any unwarranted refund requests.

We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel any orders that appear suspicious or fraudulent at our discretion. All fraudulent transactions are investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law. Again, we fully reserve the right not to ship to any unconfirmed Paypal addresses. Parcel Post: 3 to 7 business days for in-house processing + 6 to 9 mailing days until delivery.

Priority Mail: 3 to 7 business days for in-house processing + 2 to 3 mailing days until delivery.

Express Mail: 1 business days for in-house processing + 1 to 2 mailing days until delivery depending upon your location.

International Customers

International orders are shipped via USPS International First Class, USPS International Priority, USPS International Express, and UPS Worldwide Saver for most countries.

If you need shipping insurance or signature confirmation added to your order you must arrange these extra services before you make your purchase. We are working on adding an insurance and signature confirmation option to our checkout page, but for now please contact us at 1-559-326-0130 or by email at lindsay@retrokittenapparel.com before placing your order so we can add the extra cost of insurance to the cost of the item, and note your account as to what the extra cost is for, to ensure insurance/signature confirmation is added.

We are not responsible for your package once it is in the hands of the Postal or Parcel Service.

Customers will be sent a link in your Order Confirmation email where you may check the status of your order on our site. You may also track your parcel at USPS or UPS.

Note about FPO/APO and P.O. Boxes

UPS does not offer service to APO/FPO addresses or P.O. Boxes - Please select USPS. All P.O. box and FPO/APO orders will ship via USPS no matter the delivery method selected at checkout.

Orders exceeding $75 in value, large orders, and all orders purchased with American Express are shipped requiring signature confirmation - You will have to sign for your package. In addition, we reserve the right to send any packages via signature confirmation if we deem it necessary due to known issues with theft in certain neighborhoods or in large metropolitan areas.

Packages Returned by Postal Carrier

In the event that a package is deemed undeliverable by the post office, and returned to us, we will attempt to contact the customer 3 times, via telephone and/or email over a 21 day period. After failure to contact all undeliverable merchandise will be returned to the floor for sale.

If the package was undeliverable due to a postal error, and the address is correct, the post office should reship the package at no additional cost. We will attempt to reship the order with our next shipment.

We have chosen a very secure online shopping cart with many features that protect ourselves, and the customer, from information input errors such as incorrect addresses, or not filling in any required fields such as a telephone number, and/or any fraudulent activity. Therefore, it is very unlikely that any shipping errors will rest with you, the customer, or us, the store. However, in the event that the customer does make an input error, moved, or any unforeseen problem occurs on the customer's behalf, please read the following information:

In the event that a package is deemed undeliverable due to an error by the customer, she or he will be responsible for re-shipping costs. Upon receipt of reshipping costs, we will attempt to reship the order with our next shipment.

In the event the customer refuses to pay re-shipping costs, and the delivery error rests with her or him, we will not reship the order and no refund/store credit will be given. Please note that all undeliverable merchandise will be returned to the floor for resale.

In the event that we are unable to contact the customer within 21 days of our first attempt, we will not reship the order and no refund/store credit will be available. All undeliverable merchandise will be returned to the floor for resale.

RETURN POLICIES & INSTRUCTIONS


If you want to return an item for store credit, less any/all shipping costs, you must return that item unworn within 14 days of receipt. Any item(s) received as a return after 14 days will be subject to a 15% restocking fee. We do not provide cash back, but you will receive store credit in the amount you paid for the item, less any/all shipping costs, if the item is in the original condition that it was shipped to you in. You will be responsible for any/all shipping costs for the return of any item(s), and receipt of any replacement item(s). Our free shipping offer will not be valid for returns.

We are not responsible for loss or damage to any item(s) after they have been picked up by the shipping facility. We suggest you purchase shipping insurance to protect your order.

To avoid the hassle of returning an item, and to save shipping costs that could possibly be avoided we suggest you check the garment measurements against a similar garment of your own, as most returns are due to improper fit issues. We list measurements for our garments in the "description" of each garment to the best of our ability in addition to listing measurement instructions on our "Size Chart" page. Our size guides, tips, and instructions aren't an exact science, but they are there to help.

Some garments have an incorrect size listed on the tag, and our vintage garments use a different sizing method than today's garments. Therefore, we do our best to list all appropriate measurements for you to avoid any problems. We cannot refund shipping costs so we would like to avoid any returns as much as possible.

Store Credit Instructions:

Please allow up to one week for your return to be processed. We will advise you via email once it has, and provide you with your store credit coupon. If you haven't received an email within that time, please check your bulk/spam folder or contact us.

Store credit applies toward merchandise only, not shipping costs, Paypal fees, customs, duties, etc. Any shipping charges will not be credited, and are your responsibility. Therefore, please make any inquiries necessary before placing your order.

1. Please request authorization for any/all returns within 3 days of receiving your order, via email (lindsay@retrokittenapparel.com) or by phone (1-559-326-0130), and we must receive the authorized return within 14 days. The item(s) must be returned and received by us in the original condition as shipped to you, unworn and unwashed, and all tags must still be attached (if applicable). Please provide a copy of the return authorization you received via email.

2. Please package the item(s) securely for return, and do not apply tape or labels directly to merchandise, or merchandise specific packaging (i.e. shoe box, costume bag, stocking sleeves, etc.), or otherwise damaging any garment or we will not accept the return for refund/store credit. All paperwork, parts, manuals and accessories must accompany your return. Incomplete returns will not be credited. If your item(s) comes back without the refund authorization email we may not know who you are and you won't get store credit. Any item(s) returned as COD (Cash On Delivery) will be refused!

3. Upon receipt of the return, we will inspect each item to ensure it is in its original condition, and, if so, we will provide you with an email indicating receipt and providing you with the authorized store credit. Store Credit will be issued in the form of a coupon code, which is valid toward any item as available in our store. You will receive one coupon per return. Shipping costs and customs fees are non-refundable.

If the item(s) is not in its original condition, or damaged, we will not provide you with store credit, and authorization of the return will be revoked. Item(s) refused to be credited, are your responsibility and you will need to pay for the item(s) to be shipped back to you, or you forfeit your right to the item and/or store credit.

Any previously authorized returns received after 14 days will be will be subject to a 15% re-stocking fee. If you are unsure about the timeframe, please contact us, as we would be happy to give you an extension! Communication is key.

These rules for return are in place to ensure an honest and fair transaction to protect everyone.

Authorized Cash Refund Returns

In the event that we grossly miss-represent an item and you would like to return it, please contact us for authorization within 7 days of receipt of your order. If the return is authorized, we will send you a pre-paid return shipping label. We will not reimburse any unauthorized shipping costs over and above what we would pay for any pre-paid shipping label via our USPS account. Upon receipt of the item(s) in its original condition (after inspection at our discretion), we will refund your money along with your original shipping costs, and any applicable sales tax (for California, U.S. residents) via the payment method originally used to purchase the item.

You may also choose to receive store credit, or exchange the item for an item of equal the amount originally paid, and we will ship it to you are our cost.

In the event that we inadvertently ship you the wrong item, please contact us for authorization within 7 days of receipt of your order. If the return is authorized, we will send you a pre-paid return shipping label. We will not reimburse any unauthorized shipping costs over and above what we would pay for any pre-paid shipping label via our USPS account. Upon receipt of the returned item in its original condition (we will inspect and decide at our discretion), we will ship you the correct item(s) promptly at our expense.

Exchanges

If you would like to exchange any item ordered for another available item at our store, before it ships to you of equal value, we would be happy to do so.

If you would like to exchange an item after your order ships, please follow our return policy noted above, and you will be responsible for any/all shipping costs.

If you are going to receive store credit for an authorized exchange or return, and you have your heart set on something in our store equal, or lesser, the amount of due credit, we would be happy to put that item on hold while the return or exchange process is completed. We usually only have one of each item or size and when its gone, its gone. The return/exchange process can take several days to complete. However, please be sure that is the item you want as you will be bound to honor your commitment to purchase that item, or no store credit will be given. One-of-a-kind garments are in demand and we cannot hold any item(s) without a commitment to buy.

Why We Set Up Lay-Away

Our lay-away plan is set up to help you get an item, or items, that you really want, but when you don't have the money right then to buy it. Due to our first come first service policy, we have set up a lay-away plan to allow you to get items your really want in that event. We do not charge any "lay-away fees", only a non-refundable deposit, which is deducted from your balance. Some stores charge a 10% fee just to set up a lay-away account, but we don't.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD

Attention, Please!


Any charge-backs to credit cards without communicating with us first are treated as fraudulent. All details, including original order form, user name, IP addresses and access logs bearing members IP addresses and/or e-mail addresses and user name will be forwarded to the issuing Credit Card Company (Fraud Division), F.B.I. (Credit Card Fraud Division) and all Credit Reference Agencies which will probably result in a query into members credit card payment habits. Credit Card Fraud is a serious crime and will not be tolerated. If we feel you have committed a crime during your transaction, or the transaction is fraudulent, we reserve the right to refuse to do business with you. We will report all fraudulent activity to the Police Department and as noted above.

BUYING POLICY


Retro Kitten Apparel is a second-hand shop not a consignment store. I do not accept trade-ins for merchandise. I will buy clothing, shoes, and accessories on occasion for cash or store credit as per the following guidelines:

Guidelines

1. All merchandise must be in great condition (i.e. no stains, smells, broken/missing parts, damaged/rips, repairs needed, etc.).

2. All merchandise must fall into the Rockabilly or Punk genres or sub-genres and meet strict criteria (i.e. style, quality, demand, etc.) and, ultimately, whether I want it. I reserve the right to refuse to do business with anyone at anytime.

3. I usually do not buy children's clothing, but I will consider brand name merchandise in excellent or new condition.

Authorization To Review Items:

Please email/text me photos of each item and a short description such as brand, size, condition. If you cannot send photos, you can either find photos stock photos online of the same item indicating that it is not the actual photo(s), or just send a thorough description.

Local Customers (San Luis Obispo County, Ca):

If I am currently purchasing merchandise I will make an appointment to view the items. I reserve the right to refuse to purchase any/all item(s).

Out-of-town Customers (outside of SLO County):

If you aren't local, and I agree to review your item(s), you will need to ship the merchandise to me for review. After I conduct the review, I will contact you and advise you as to whether the items are acceptable. I highly recommend that you be honest in your description of any/all item(s) you are seeking authorization to ship to RKA for review, as I will thoroughly inspect each item myself to determine the quality. If any item is unacceptable I reserve the right to refuse to purchase same, and you will be responsible for the cost of return shipping if you want the item(s) returned to you.

Payment:

Payment will be provided to you for any/all items accepted in the amount and form agreed upon after inspection (i.e. in the form of cash, via Paypal, or for store credit via a store credit coupon).

Store Credit:

If I agree to accept any item(s) from you for store credit I will email you a coupon code word worth the total value agreed upon after inspection, as per the price list above. Coupons are only valid at Retro Kitten Apparel. Only one coupon is valid per order. *Please see our instructions for using Store Credit above.

Cash Payment:

If I agree to purchase any item(s) from you for cash payment I will provide you with payment, as per the price list, or as otherwise agreed upon after inspection, in the form of cash or via Paypal, whichever is authorized and agreed upon. You must have a Paypal account to receive payment from Retro Kitten Apparel unless I have agreed to pay cash. If you need help obtaining an account with Paypal.com I can assist you.

PLEASE READ: If I deem any/all item(s) as not acceptable for purchase, store credit, etc., or the item(s) was not as originally described, photographed, flawed, damaged, misrepresented, not received, unauthorized, etc., I reserve the right to refuse payment for same, and you will be responsible for any/all shipping costs if you would like the item(s) returned to you. RKA Street Team Guidelines

A Street team is: “a group of people who voluntarily 'hit the streets' promoting a particular company, brand, or band. A modern version of a credible "cool" field marketer promoting a company on a volunteer basis [RKA prefers to reward our "volunteers" through a point system so you can actually earn merchandise] with the ability to create hype for that company through credible peer-to-peer interactions and viral word-of-mouth influence in their communities.

Usually, a street team is formed by a loyal fan base who can get into key markets through strong street hype and "street-cred", and try to get on the local radio stations through hype/word-of-mouth.”

• Retro Kitten Apparel (RKA) Street Teamers:

I am putting together a street team consisting of people of all ages ranging from teens to geriatrics! Anyone with a strong influence over their peers, and whom are looked to for what's hot, what's next, or where to get what are welcome to apply! Members must be enthusiastic, professional, articulate, friendly, honest, respectful, and up-to-date on RKA inventory, events, and information.

I am looking for a credible street team in order to promote my store and make it more visible through word-of-mouth, blogging, bulletins, flyers, stickers, business cards, models, and friends. RKA has a lot to offer and we need to get the word out! RKA's street team members must be willing to work hard at getting people into my store (onto my website) and buying merchandise.

RKA WILL NOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH, NOR WILL RKA TOLERATE ANY ILLEGAL ACTIONS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

You will be banned from the street team if anyone is caught doing anything illegal, harmful, distasteful, or otherwise while promoting RKA! I retain the right to take away your membership at anytime.

This is not a job, and you are not an employee of RKA. RKA's street team is comprised of fans who become members like any club and who volunteer their time to promote RKA. However, you will be rewarded for your promotional efforts, especially for any sales RKA generates on your behalf, via a point system as noted below.

One great perk of being a RKA street team member is that it isn't all work and no play. I want my street team promoting at punk shows, car shows, roller derbies, clubs, concerts, and anywhere punks, rockabillys, goths, and alternative cats gather. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends and have lots of fun!

The concept is a group of street team members dedicated to promoting RKA while enjoying themselves. Street teams will work together inside and outside of their homes. Promotion is unlimited as far as where to promote RKA: at school, your job, at shows, hanging out, while walking down the boulevard, under a bridge, online, in line wherever you see someone you think might enjoy RKA gear! Usually street teams are unpaid fans, but I offer free clothes on a point system.

• Street Team Point System:

I maintain a charted point system for each street team member. As you earn points, you will be able to “buy” merchandise from RKA with those points. Points are assigned to an individual for a particular action - the better the action (such as a sale for me) the more points you earn. Each applicant will receive a "Points Per Actions" list. Points can be used at RKA anytime for any item. They don’t go away, unless you “spend” em. If you want to save your points to buy something later, go ahead. If your points are burning a hole in your pocket, and you want to spend em as soon as you get em, go ahead (I have $1 items in my clearance section). It’s up to you! However, you must have the points to use them. There is no “credit” given, and you cannot reserve an item, or put it on hold until you earn enough points.

1 point = $1 towards store credit

Street team members need to contact RKA once a month, or as often as necessary, to discuss campaign strategies, explore ways to create peer influence, elevate sales, share stories and ideas, straighten out kinks, discuss what’s been happening or what's coming up, and generally catch up.

RKA gets invited to vendor event's like Punk shows, Tattoo Conventions, Roller Derby's, etc., and we also have warehouse sales sometimes when we need to move out the old and make room for the new. If you want to volunteer your time to help with any of these events (i.e. set up, conduct sales/transactions, surveillance, and break down/put away equipment) you will not only get to attend some really cool events, but you will also earn points.

Street Teamers can do the following to promote RKA:

• Hand out, and post flyers in your community (no stickers, or anything that would be considered illegal)

• Direct your friends & family to the RKA website

• Actively discuss RKA with friends & family regarding why they should buy from RKA

• Phone your local radio stations for a chance to plug RKA (but not excessively). You mustn't be annoying!

• Bring RKA business cards with you wherever you go (i.e. clubs, concerts, events) and pass them out

• Post online in forums, blogs, and bulletin boards RKA info & news (i.e. sales, discounts, all around great prices, where to get that Kustom Kulture prom dress, etc.)

• Maintain magazines or websites either created by Retro Kitten Apparel or by you dedicated to RKA

If you have an idea for marketing or any suggestions please contact us to discuss your thoughts and get authorization from RKA staff before you do anything other than what is listed above. I am always interested in hearing about your ideas, and I take suggestions openly, but you must get authorization first.

Also, I am an artist and love to meet new artists! If you are an artist and think you could create a great flyer, poster, picture, or ad about RKA please feel free to do so. You can submit it to us via the email address below, and, if it isn't too explicit, we will post it on our website and use it to promote RKA and you too!
